Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.: SMTA Teacher Performance Showcase

SMTA teacher performance showcase: What are the best ingredients for a perfect autumn evening? Great music and lots of fun with friends!

Enjoy the perfect evening!  Join Seattle Music Teachers Association on Sunday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. at Haller Lake United Methodist Church to hear SMTA teacher-members share their talents in a Teacher Performance Showcase, sponsored by the generous gift from the late Dorothy Woodcock.  Performing teachers will entertain us with classical, jazz, original and vocal music.  There is sure to be something for every musical taste.

Jason Kuo will perform some of his favorite solo piano music. Violinist Sandra Layman and pianist Lucy Wenger will perform “Romanian Miniatures.” These little pieces might very well have never before been performed in Seattle…and perhaps not often anywhere in North America, if at all. (They’re from old books of short compositions by various Romanian composers; which books Ms. Layman found while living and studying in Bucharest in the late 1980s.)

Admission is by free-will donation (cash or check only) to benefit SMTA’s Student Enrichment Programs.
